About Team Blue (Adaptive)

 Team Blue is a dragon boat team created through the collaboration of the Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Club with Adaptive Adventures. 

Adaptive Adventures is a nonprofit that helps people with physical disabilities to stay active through a variety of activities including dragon boat, cycling, climbing, kayaking, and more. Adaptive Adventures hosts Team Blue in many locations including Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, and Puerto Rico.  

 Whether you are participating as a veteran, active military or civilian with a physical disability or not, we need you! No previous dragon boat experience is necessary. We will provide adaptive equipment to meet your needs.  

You will learn the basics of dragon boat paddling technique, safety and commands. It will be only minutes into the session when you start to see the incredible team-building power of the sport and camaraderie built through dragon boat racing. 

To join us for a session please send a message through our Contact Info section. If you have any adaptive needs, please contact our Team Blue coordinators Kim (231-818-5735) or Than (813-407-0370) prior to coming to your first session so we may determine if we have the proper equipment for you.

 You must be able to self-transfer into or out of the boat with minimal assistance.  

   Wear athletic comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting splashed. We recommend athletic shoes when starting for traction when standing/moving in the boat. 

Also bring sunscreen and a water bottle. 

Most important - bring a smile and willingness to learn!
