The Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Club is comprised of members with different levels of paddling abilities and interests. Everyone is welcome to paddle with us! If you are looking to race competitively, race team selections and paddler ranking are based on several components. Strength, Gym testing, OC1 time trials, Attendance, Paddling Technique, & Endurance Levels. Requirements are subject to change. If you choose not to race with the club but enjoy dragon boat paddling for fitness. The above components are not required but still available when offered.

TBDBC offers prospective new members and guests two free practices. Once you decide to join TBDBC, membership fees are due at the third attendance of practice. 


Current Membership Options:


General Membership: $140 for six months or $250 for one year. You have the option of paying for the annual membership via PayPal with 12 monthly installments, which works out to $21/month.

- Access to all club practices

- Access to use club OC1's

- Full racing privileges

Student Membership: $70.00 per year. No equipment fee. (Ask about student requirements).

- Access to all club practices

- Access to use club OC1's

- Full racing privileges

"Plus One" Outrigger Membership: $100 per year

- Must be sponsored by an active general member

- Allows for use of our club OC1's

- Membership does not include participation in full dragon boat practices

- Does not include racing privileges. 

"Per Practice" Membership: If after the initial two free practices, if you are not ready to commit for either six months or the full year, you can attend practices at the cost of $10 per practice.

- Exclusive to practice only

- Does not include OC use

- Does not include racing privileges. 

Youth Membership: $70 per year.

- Ages 12-17

- Access to Youth Practices (Saturday mornings at 10:30am)

- Access to OC use during organized youth team OC training activity and with parent/guardian that is a full general member

Open Club Practices are currently Tuesday & Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm and Saturday mornings at 8:00 am and 9:00 am. Practices run one hour to 1.5 hours and promptly push off the dock at the specified start times. Optional advanced coaching and gym training may be offered to all club members. (Additional fees may apply). Life jackets and paddles are available for your use. However, we can recommend vendors that sell high performance paddles & life jackets if you choose to purchase your own.
